The The Hearing Loss Association of Florida, Inc. (HLAA-FL) website is one of the most visited and comprehensive sites related to hearing loss throughout the State of Florida. We are under the national umbrella of The Hearing Loss Association of America headquartered in Rockville, MD.

We strive to provide our audience with the latest information on products, services, research, and technology in the hearing health care field. Our visitors and members look for practical and useful information. They also find personal stories of people with hearing loss to find encouragement and give them the feeling that they are not alone and can live successfully with a hearing loss.

The Disability Without Abuse Project has a website www.disabilitywithoutabuse.com with several associated listservs.   Marc is working on this project with Dr. Nora Baladerian, a leader and trailblazer in the fight against abuse of persons with disabilities.

As you know, persons with disability (including those who are deaf and hard-of-hearing) are at increased risk of being abused by family members, domestic partners, law enforcement and healthcare workers. and others. The Disability Without Abuse Project will be expanding its focus to include victimization and abuse issues among members of the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community. The Disability Without Abuse Project welcomes the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community’s experiences, insights, and participation.

Visitors will also be able to access the information posted to the listservs on the web, without joining the listservs – However, those who subscribe to the listservs will be able to get the information emailed directly to them, rather than having to view the postings only on the web.

To view the postings on the Listservs without subscribing, please see our listing of subgroups and their descriptions.

Whether an individual joins as a member or not, Listserv postings will be available for viewing on the web. There is no charge to join or view Project materials.

You may read posts and/or join, by filling out our form.
Periodically, The Disability Without Abuse Project will hold zoom meetings with members of the Advisory Board. D-HH individuals will have an opportunity to talk with them directly, ask them questions, and learn of their work. Advisory Board members come from all over the United States, and provide us with valuable guidance and insights.
