State & Chapter Leadership Workshop: Learn how to Revitalize Passion through Leadership with Karen Putz- Wednesday, June 20
What does it take to lead from the heart–with a dose of passion thrown in? We are excited to announce that “Passion Mentor” Karen Putz will be presenting this year’s Leadership Workshop, Leading with Passion. Karen has been involved in non-profit leadership for 28 years, as a founder, board member, and staff. She is a certified Passion Test Facilitator and the author of “Unwrapping Your Passion, Creating the Life You Truly Want.” Karen works for Hands & Voices as the co-Director of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Infusion. She’s been featured on ESPN, PBS, CNN, and more.
An Evening with Mandy Harvey- Friday, June 22
Many of you may have heard or seen Mandy Harvey on this season of America’s Got Talent. Mandy is an award winning singer, songwriter and motivational speaker who has a hearing loss. Her appearance on America’s Got Talent got her the “golden buzzer” from Simon Cowell to pass to the next round. The emotional video of her performance went viral, touching people all over the world.
West Side Story at the Guthrie Theater- Saturday, June 23
If you know Minneapolis, then you know about its already rich cultural landscape -specifically its theater scene. The Guthrie Theater, founded in 1963, is an American center for theater performance, production, education and professional training. You get to experience the world-class theatrical production of West Side Story at the Guthrie Theater Saturday evening! The theater will be looped, captioned and sign language interpretation will be available for those who need it. Please refer to the Communication Access page for more information on how to request these accommodations. Transportation to and from the theater will be provided. Buses will depart starting at 6:30 p.m.
